About Winterpop

A popup village to share the Christmas joy

The City of Brussels has stated its ambition to move certain events in order to make the city center more liveable and take festive activities to residents of other areas. That ambition has been realized in recent years with Winter Pop and last summer’s Hello Summer. During Winter Wonders, Winter Pop’s cute caravans share the Christmas joy, bringing it to the widest possible audience. Since the first edition in 2017, the popup village has been a big hit everywhere it stops.
This year, it spends four successive weekends on Square Ambiorix, in Les Marolles, Neder-Over-Heembeek, and Laeken. Working with local groups, a whole host of fun and creative activities is organized for young and old: workshops, shows, demonstrations, projection mapping, concerts, brass bands, dances, merry-go-rounds, join-in choirs, cartoons, storytelling, festive walks… And snacks are available, sometimes in collaboration with local businesses. For venues with a particularly remarkable architecture, guided tours are also organized.

The Winter Pop villages take Winter Wonders’ magical atmosphere right to the heart of Brussels’s neighborhoods.
